NICHOLAS GREGORY June 14, 1919 - August 25, 2000 On Friday, August 25, 2000, Nicholas (Nicky) Gregory passed away peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre with his daughter Gail by his side after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Nick was predeceased by his loving wife Lily of 52 years in 1999. He was also predeceased by his son-in-law Bob Somers in 1999; and his two brothers, George of Detroit and Johnny of Winnipeg. Nick was a lifelong member of St. Mary the Protectress Cathedral, where he served on numerous committees. He was the first President of St. Marys Mens Club. Nick was very instrumental in the planning and building of the St. Mary the Protectress Villa. Nick was a caring and gentle husband, devoted to his wife. He was a wonderful father and concerned and loving grandfather to his three grandsons. He will be greatly missed by his loving daughter Gail Somers; his three grandsons, Adam and fiancee Shannon Marchyshyn, Jeffrey and Christopher Somers. He is also survived by his brother Peter and sister-in-law, Jeanette Mislawchuck and several nieces and nephews. Nick was devoted to his family, always going out of his way to help everyone. He and Lily enjoyed their garden in the summer and their numerous trips to Las Vegas. He had hoped to make one last trip in the fall, but it was not to be. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful nurses and staff at the Riverview Centre, Palliative Care Ward; and also to Dr. Marr for his compassionate support.
