ALLISTER JAMES SHAW Allister James Shaw of Donwood Manor, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 26, 2000 at the Concordia Hospital at 92 years of age. Al will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. Predeceased by his wife Lillian; sisters, Margaret (Targe) Christianson and Mary (Harvey) Paul; and brother Albert. Most of his working life was spent in construction in Manitoba and Alberta. He loved all sports, whether playing or as a spectator. A highlight for him was being in the finals of the Canadian Seniors Curling Championships. Al enjoyed the many friends at the North Hill Curling Club. He was always interested in people, loved to travel, visit family and friends, and keep track of the big machinery on the farm and oil fields. A great pastime was playing cribbage. He displayed a great sense of humour and always had a positive attitude. A celebration of his life will be held by the family. Thank you to the staff at Donwood Manor for their kindness. Should friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 9Z9; or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8.
