WILMA SCHELLEKENS (nee OOJEVAAR) Peacefully in her sleep at her daughters home, on Sunday, August 27, 2000, Wilma passed away at the age of 78 years. Mom devoted her life to her daughters and grandchildren, Mary Debets (Ian Haimes), Willy (Tom) Kliner, Helen (Dave) Brydges, Petra Russell (Al Katz) grandchildren, Alan (Myra) Brydges, Jim (Carla) Russell, Angie (Daryl) Alksne and Deidra Kliner. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Desiree Kliner. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 30 at 7:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (across from the Royal Canadian Mint). Interment of cremated remains will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson Foundation of Canada (Winnipeg Chapter), 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5 or to the Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3. Life is more meaningful, more worth the living, When you have a mother whos thoughtful and giving, A mother who taught her children to find Lifes greatest treasures--the true, worthwhile kind, Who demonstrated love by examples she set, By deeds she has done and the trials she has met, Who patterned her life to a Power Divine, And were thankful that such a mother was ours.
