MATT Le NABAT Before his time on Wednesday, August 23, 2000, Matt Le Nabat was taken from us in Sacramento, California at the age of 23. Matt is survived by his wife Dr. Sonya Le Nabat; father Mark Le Nabat (Karen) mother Joyce Urzada (Bob) three brothers, Derek, Donavon and Marcus Le Nabat (Caroline) mother-in-law Mary Maynes; father-in-law Fred Arnold (Pat) and many family members who will cherish his memory. Matt was born in Saskatchewan on June 6, 1977. He moved to Winnipeg where he graduated from Silver Heights Collegiate. He spent most of his last three years in California where he met Sonya. They married June 17, 2000, and began their life together in Sacramento by buying a house and Matt starting a new career. Matt amazed everyone with his gift for languages: he learned French in school and picked up Spanish and Maya while in the United States. He loved to play music and was never without his bass guitar lest he miss an opportunity to jam. He enjoyed spending time with his dogs Mija and Buddy. Matt always reminded us to take it easy whenever we were getting anxious, and this easy-going manner endeared him to everyone who knew him. A memorial service is being held at St. Georges Crescentwood Anglican Church, 168 Wilton St., on Friday, September 1, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Humane Society.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I would like to take the time to leave a comment as not a day goes by that I don’t think of my funny childhood friend. When you think back to a happier time I can remember singing "Lean on me" or "Rocking Robin" on the school bus, hear his funny jokes and playing at his house with his dog. He truly was a good friend and didn’t deserve what happened to him. He gave so much to others and that was truly a gift. I want to say to the family my deepest sympathies and that I pray for them often. RIP Matt you’re deeply missed! • I was friends with Matt and was actually the last person to see Matt alive the night he lost his life. If the family reads this I would love to hear from them. I didn't get to speak to the family much when they had services in Sacramento for him, but I am here if any of the family would like to talk about anything. It is coming up on 16 years since he was taken from us. Not a day goes by that I don't think about him and miss him greatly! RIP Matt, we miss you! - Posted by: John (Friend that worked at Quest Intelligence with Matt) on: May 20, 2016
