Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY (MARIA) ZACHARIAS Mrs. Mary (Maria) Zacharias (nee Klassen) of Altona, Man. died peacefully at the age of 88 in her sleep at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2000 at the Altona Memorial Hospital. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband William (to whom she was married for 67 years) and her five children, Allister and Dora, son-in-law Bill Sawatzky, Harvey and Amy, Grace and Alvin Klippenstein, Calvin, and Connie and John Kroeker. Her loving daughter Norma passed away in 1971 and will welcome Mom in heaven. Mary was a devoted and affectionate grandmother to 12 grandchildren, Gerry, Ted, Trevor, Preston, Greg, Tim, Shawna, Rachel, Andrea, Chad, Matthew and Daniel, as well as 10 great-grandchildren. Mary was born on October 18, 1911 in Halbstadt, Man., and was predeceased by her father, David Klassen in 1965, and her mother Anna in 1943. She leaves to mourn her brother Peter Klassen and wife Tina from Winnipeg and sister Tena (Mrs. P.H. Klassen) of Airdrie, Alta., as well as sisters-in-law, Anne, (Mrs. Died Klassen) of Winnipeg, Sally Klassen of Vancouver, Mrs. Anna Pappel of Altona and Mrs. Mary Zacharias of Altona. She was predeceased by five brothers, Henry, David, Martin, Jacob and Diedrich and two sisters Anna and Agnes. She will be fondly remembered by her in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and always provided a loving and welcoming home environment for all her many relatives and friends. As a family we will cherish our fond memories of Mom, her sense of humour, her strong will to live and the spirit that she manifest throughout her life. She will be deeply missed. God gave us many good years together with our mother and we rest in the assurance of Gods love and His goodness toward us. Flowers are gratefully declined. If so desired, donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee. A representative will be available at the church. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 31 at 2:00 p.m. in the Bergthaler Mennonite Church in Altona. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 29 from 12:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, August 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Wiebe Funeral Home in Altona. Wiebe Funeral Home of Altona is in care of arrangements.
