JOSEPH PATRICK ROCHELLE Peacefully on August 28, 2000 at Riverview Personal Care Home, Joseph Rochelle passed away at the age of 83. Joseph was predeceased by his father and mother, Ludwik and Maria Rochelle; sisters, Katherine Domanski, Pauline Shindruk, Carrie Domanski; brothers, Jacob, Nicholas, Peter and Michael Rochelle. He is survived by his sister Jessie Domanski of Erickson, MB, and also by many nieces and nephews. Joseph was born in the Municipality of Strathclair. Joseph enrolled in the army in 1941 and served until 1946. During his lifetime he worked as a farmer and worked in the lumber mills in the Crawford Park area. He operated a service station in Winnipeg for a number of years and owned and operated hotels in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia until his retirement. Joseph will also be missed by his many friends at the Royal Canadian Legion, Fort Garry No. 90, where he was a member for many years. According to Josephs wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, September 1, in the chapel of the Riverview Personal Care Home, 1 Morley Ave., at 12:30 p.m., with the Rev. Fr. Peter Monty officiating. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8. The relatives of Joseph Rochelle wish to thank all the nursing staff and staff of the Riverview Personal Care Home for the loving care they gave Joseph during his stay at Riverview.
