HECTOR DAVID Suddenly on August 27, 2000, at Seven Oaks Hospital, Hector David, beloved husband of Elizabeth (Betty), of Winnipeg, Man., passed away at the age of 65 years. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 38 years and his daughters, Lisa and Roy Loe, Diane David and Brent Dudeck, Michelle and Rennie Brown; his grandchildren, Steven and Mandy Loe, Jeffery, Mathew and Joshua Brown and Nicholas Dudeck, all of Winnipeg. He is also survived by his sisters, Simone Belanger, Agnes Beaudette; brothers, Edmund David, Leo David, along with his many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Pierre and Georgina David; brothers, Sylvio, Edmond and Raymond; along with one sister Georgeline Smerchanski. Born in Carruthers, Sask., he was employed for many years in the mining and mechanical fields. For the past 27 years he was employed at Imperial Steel Products Ltd. At the time of his death he was Head Mill Operator and Shop Foreman. He loved to have his family around him and was proud of all his grandchildren. He would never refuse to help anyone in need no matter what the sacrifice was to himself. He loved his wife and family deeply and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. Special thanks to the total emergency team, especially hospital staff, who helped us in our time of need and to family and friends for their overwhelming kindness, support and prayers. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 31, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthonys of Padua Church located at 250 Burin Ave., with Father Terrance McGrath officiating. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Prayers will be held Wednesday, August 30, 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Dennis and Mark Smerchanski, Louie David, Billy Nichols, Drew Dudeck, and Justin Kelsch. Anyone wishing to make donations can do so to the Heart and Stroke Foundation located at 301 - 352 Donald St. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
