VERNA BLONDIEN SCOT Peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, Verna passed away on Monday, August 28, 2000, at the Grace General Hospital at the age of 75 years. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1997; sisters, Lori and Awana and her parents Henry and Elizabeth Friesen. Verna will be lovingly remembered by her son Greg (Vivian) granddaughter Danielle (John) great-grandchildren, Nicole and Johnathon; brother Blaine (Millie) sister Darlene (Meryl) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and relatives. Verna was born on July 25, 1925, in Saskatchewan. She spent many hours doing charitable work for various organizations. On Thursday, August 31, at 10:00 a.m., Vernas funeral service will be held in Deer Lodge United Church, 2093 Portage Ave. at Belvidere Street. A private interment will take place in Brookside Cemetery. Our family wishes to thank the staff on the 5th floor and the 4th floor, Palliative Care at the Grace General Hospital and Moms many friends for all their care and compassion. A special thanks also goes to Dr. Donna Sutherland for caring for Mom.
