JOAN FERGUSON (JOANNIE) Peacefully, with her son Stewart by her side, on Tuesday, August 29, 2000, Joan Ferguson passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 79 years. She was predeceased by her husband Don and her sister Hilda. She leaves to mourn her passing, her son Stewart (Ann) of Winnipeg; her twin brother Jack of Stockport, England; nieces Jean OKeef and family, Margaret (Terry) Holt and family of Manchester, England. Joan was a very kind, thoughtful person to everyone that she met. During the Second World War, Joan was employed in England at an aircraft factory riveting the Lancaster Bombers. In 1950, with her husband Don, she immigrated to Canada and settled here in Winnipeg. During her latter working years, she worked for Parkside Ford, W.G. McMahon and West Kildonan Golf Course. She enjoyed sports, especially golf, soccer and tennis. She won two golf trophies at McMahons annual golf tournament, and her favourite soccer team was Manchester United. The family wishes to thank Dr. Patel and the staff of the 5th floor, unit 5, for their kind attention given to Joan and the many questions that they answered. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joans memory to the Canadian Cancer Society (Manitoba Division), 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg R3C 9Z9.
