EUPHEMIA (EFFIE) BOWCOTT (nee MAXWELL) Peacefully, after a brief illness, and with deep regret, we announce the death of Effie Bowcott on August 29, 2000 at St. Boniface Hospital. Effie is survived by sons, Ray (Joy) of Gull Lake, MB, Gordon of Delta, BC, Wayne (Karen) Pansy, MB; and twin daughters, Margaret (Bob Crockett) of Dugald, MB, Betty Butler (Dennis Alvestad) of Winnipeg; sisters, Janet of Langley, BC, Margaret (Jim Bryan) of Rossburn; and brother Dave, also of Rossburn; 20 grandchildren, numerous great-grand-children and one great-great-grandson. Effie was predeceased by husband Ted in 1981; sister Jean; brothers, George, John, Bill, Robert and Tom; granddaughter Bonnie; and great-grandson Tyler. She was born January 4, 1915 in Scotland and came to Canada as a teenager with the Maxwell Clan to homestead in Rossburn, MB. She was a longtime employee with Hudson Bay Co. Effie will be fondly remembered by her family and friends. As per Moms request, cremation has taken place and interment at a later date in Rossburn. A reception to celebrate Effies life will be held at 106 Berrydale Ave. on Wednesday, September 6 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. for family and friends.
