Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTOPHER JAMES McLENNAN Christopher James McLennan, 49, on Sunday, August 27, 2000, following a prolonged illness. Born May 11, 1951, at Russell, MB, son of Muriel Rosa (Hay) and John Walter (Jack) McLennan, Chris was predeceased by his parents, and an infant brother (David). He is survived by his wife Helen and step-son Troy. Known for his gentle manner and wry wit, Chris life will be celebrated in memory and his loss will be mourned by his family, his many friends, and his associates at the University of Manitoba. After 21 years with the Faculty of Medicine, Chris spent the past six years in the Deans Office of the Faculty of Arts, where he was loved and respected by his many colleagues. The family particularly thanks Chris friends for their frequent notes, calls, and visits during his long struggle. Much gratitude and respect are offered to Dr. R. Wong, Dr. A. Cooke, Dr. P. Daeninck, the nurses and support staff, at CancerCare Manitoba and St. Boniface General Hospital, for their sustained efforts on Chris behalf and for the support given to the family in their time of need. Following cremation, as arranged by Chapel Lawn Funeral Chapel, interment and a graveside memorial service will take place at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, in the Garden of the Good Samaritan, in Winnipeg, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 2. Family and friends will gather at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday. Following the service, friends are invited to remain for refreshments at the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of floral remembrances, friends are asked to honour Chris with a memorial contribution to The University of Manitoba, or a donation to a charity of their choice.
