ALEKSANDER SALNIKOWSKI Aleksander Salnikowski, age 88 years, beloved husband of Zofia, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2000 at the Health Sciences Centre. Besides his loving wife, he leaves to cherish his memory, his son Ben (Sophie) daughter Rose of Okotoks, Alberta; son Peter (Kathy) living abroad; and daughter Eva. He will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Steve (Sherrie), Paul (friend Tracy), Mark (Terie) Louise (John) Eddie; Jimmy; Hayden, as well as five great-grandchildren, triplets Gage, Kerrigan, Chanelle; Rebekkah and Brandon. He also leaves behind numerous extended family members in Canada and Poland. Aleksander emigrated to Canada in 1955 and worked until his retirement in 1977. During his retirement years he enjoyed fishing, travel and spending time with his family. He tremendously enjoyed his involvement with the Sokol Organization. Members of the soccer team will all miss Wujek watching from the sidelines. The family wishes to thank Home Care staff, VON nurses, residents of the Polish Manor and especially Dr. George Korol for his exceptional care and compassion. Prayers will be said on Monday, September 4, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Church, 846 Burrows Avenue with Rev. Fr. H. Uczniak officiating. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery with reception at St. John Cantius Church after burial. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
