MELVILLE RAY BIGGS On August 29, 2000 at the Health Sciences Centre, Melville Biggs passed away at the age of 51 years. Mel was predeceased by his parents, Morris and Margaret. He is survived by brothers, Morris and Doug, their families; and many cousins and friends. Mel left Winnipeg to seek a career in sales on the West Coast. As a sales executive in the plastics manufacturing and recycling industries, he was quite successful. During his career he lived in British Columbia, California and Washington, but always hinted at coming home someday. This decision to return to the Prairies did not come easily for Mel but his desire to be with his family was strong. Mel had been ill for some time but never let it slow him down, even to the end. His optimism carried him through the good and bad that life presented him. To his friends, "Colonel Flagg" was always welcome and provided some entertaining tales of travel and events he was involved in. Mel was rarely at a loss for words. His presence will be missed by all he knew. He was one of a kind. Morris and Doug thank you all for your kindness and assistance to Mel, and us, during his illness. Deepest thanks to the staff in emergency, ICU and 3 North of the Grace Hospital and emergency staff at the Health Sciences Centre. Graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 5 at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame. Goodbye Mel We all love you. BARDAL FUNERAL HOME 843 Sherbrook Street, 774-7474
