DONALDA OOSTERHUIS (BORTHISTLE) We are sad to announce that Donalda Oosterhuis passed away on September 4, 2000 at her home in London, Ontario, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Surrounding her with their love and now deeply mourning her loss are husband Jan; six children and their families; David (Marjorie), Terry (Ruth), Melinda (Harvey Bootsma), Sarah (Andrew Hubert), Moira (Steve Morris), Jessica (Curtis Korver) and 14 grandchildren. Greatly saddened are also sisters, Jessie (Gordon Nodwell), Helen (Jim Harris) and brothers David (Sophie) and Terry (Bonnie). Donalda is also survived by brother-in-law Herman (Rita) and sister-in-law Corrie (Cas Booy) in Canada and Jans brothers Gerrit, Koen, Remmelt and Ek and sister Joke and their extended families in the Netherlands, numerous nieces and nephews. Donalda was born in Minnedosa, MB in 1930 and moved as a small child with her parents to Grosse Isle, MB in 1932 where she grew up on the farm and completed her schooling. She was graduate of the Misericordia School of Nursing. In 1956 she married Dr. Jan Oosterhuis and later moved to London, ON. A private service was held at their home on the morning of September 5, followed by an evening celebration of her life at the family church. Words cannot express how fortunate we have been to have had her in our midst.
