VERA ELIZABETH STEDMAN (nee TALLMAN) Peacefully at Central Park Lodge (Poseidon) on Monday, September 4, 2000, Vera passed away at the age of 94 years. Vera will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Sandra (Gary) Jones; grandchildren, Alison (Tom) Jackson of Calgary, Blair (Valerie) Jones of Mansfield, ON and Marshall (Lisa) Jones; great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Taylor of Stouffville, ON. Vera, a longtime resident of St. James, most recently of 22 Strauss Dr., was a member of Deer Lodge United Church from its earliest beginnings. She was an accomplished pianist and accompanied many singers in her younger days. Vera developed many lifelong friends through her association with the church and her employment. She retired from the Department of Health, Provincial Government in 1971. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 9, at 2:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. at Collegiate Street.
