MARGARET LILJA MacINTOSH (nee GUNLAUGSON) On Saturday, September 2, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Margaret at the age of 70 years, entered peacefully into rest, with her children by her side. Margaret leaves to mourn her passing her daughter Sandra (Bob), son Daniel and the light of her life granddaughter Dawn, as well as her sister Bertha Stevenson, and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Ian; her father Gunnar; mother Sigrithur; brothers, Gordon and Jon. Margaret was a kind, compassionate, caring women who never complained. She always had time for family and friends. No stray, human or animal, was turned away from her door. She was loved by all who knew her. Margaret met her husband Ian at Great West Life where they both worked. In later years she worked in the offices at Eatons warehouse until her retirement. One of mothers favourite pursuits was curling. She was at Thistle C.C. and later at the Civic Cal Business Girls. She was fortunate enough to score an eight ender. Some of Margarets happiest times were spent at the family cottage at Gull Lake. This is where her love for all her family, children, grandchild, nieces, nephews and others really showed through. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, Jack MacIntosh, Don, Rick and Garry Stevenson, Ken and Jim Gunlaugson. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Margarets life will take place on Thursday, September 7, at 2:00 p.m. in the P. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 156 Marion St. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
