WILLIAM (BILL) ZAYETS 1917 - 2000 It is with unbelievable sorrow we regretfully announce that Bill Zayets passed away at the age of 83 with his tiny loving family at his side after a very brief stay at the St. Boniface Hospital. Bill grew up in the Brooklands area as part of a large family. He was predeceased by brothers, Pete and Steve, and sister Olga Searcy. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Elsie who he treasured for almost 60 years; his only daughter Marly Billows; only grandchild Sandy and her husband Ed Gregory; his brother George (Vicki) sisters, Teena (Bill) Jack and Frances Kissel; aunt Anne Bates; brother-in-law Lloyd Searcy and numerous nephews, nieces, and many many friends everywhere. Bill was a great baseball player in his youth, but he loved bowling even more. He maintained a high average until the very end and was more than happy to share his bowling tips with others. He made a career out of creating custom made fine deerskin gloves and was so proud of having customers all over the world. He was such a genuinely good person and never had an unkind thought. He was the king of corny jokes. Bill overcame many obstacles in his life that would have made many others give up, but he only saw the bright side of everything. Heaven tried to steal him from us once before, but thanks to the heart specialists at the St. Boniface Hospital we were truly blessed with 23 more years of loving this wonderful man. He always made us proud, and while he may have left this earth, he will live on in our hearts forever and ever. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., (across from the Royal Canadian Mint). A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Spend time with your families because thats really all that matters. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550
