RUSSELL HENRY LOCKEN On September 6, 2000 at Charleswood Care Centre, Russell Henry Locken passed away peacefully at the age of 82 years, with his family at his side. Russell was predeceased by his parents, Gilbert and Annie; brothers, Albert and Lloyd; sisters, Vivian and Jeanette. Russell will be lovingly remembered by his wife Alice; three daughters, Lorraine and husband Len and their children, Darren (Tracie) and their son Brayden of Winnipeg, Robyn of Stoney Creek, Ontario, Judy and husband Glen and their children, Christine (Jason) and their daughter Sydney of Winnipeg, Deanna (Brent) of Cooz Bay, Oregon, Amanda of Winnipeg, Wendy and husband Patrick of Winnipeg and their children, Melissa and Derek of Winnipeg. He is survived by sisters, Glennis and Joan and brothers, Melvin, Roger, and Douglas and special friend Shirley Rode as well as many other relatives and friends. Russell was born in Hyas, Saskatchewan on August 19, 1918. He moved to Winnipeg where he met his loving wife Alice at the Norwegian Baptist Church on Alexander Avenue. He served in the Second World War and then spent his career in the painting and decorating business. But most of all, his wife, children and grandchildren were the most important focus in his life. His walks to the door and his "Last Tag" will be sadly missed by them. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 13, at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at the Charleswood Care Centre who were so very compassionate and caring during a difficult time.
