BERNICE IOLA MASSON February 1, 1908 - September 6, 2000 Peacefully, following a lengthy illness, we announce the death of Bernice Masson on September 6, 2000 at home with her family by her side. Bernice will be sadly missed by her sister Allene Deprez; sister-in-law, Betty Masson; numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Lillian Masson; brothers, Roland and Alan Masson. Bernice was born in McTaggert, Sask. in 1908. She came to Winnipeg in 1925 and graduated from the Misericordia School of Nursing. She worked at Thief River Falls, MN., Stockdon and St. Bernadines Hospital in San Bernadino, Ca. Bernice worked as a nurse for Chief of Staff, Dr. Patterson. She dedicated her life to the service of others. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 8, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2400 Portage Avenue with Msgr. D. Ward Jamieson presiding. Interment follows at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Robert Ringland, Todd Ringland, Jon Ottenson, Richard Wright and Murray Stubler. The family thank the people from St. Paul the Apostle Church and home care staff for the compassion and kindness given Bernice.
