SOPHIE BOWMAN (nee YAREMKO) Suddenly, on Tuesday, September 5, 2000, Sophie passed away at the age of 69 years. She is lovingly remembered by her dear companion Elmer; her sisters, Anne Chomniak of Swan River, Man., Anastasia Gibson of Sacramento, California and Christine Wolf (Victor) of Arran, Sask.; brothers, Sam Yaremko of Swan River and Fred Yaremko of Arran, as well as her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Glen; her parents Maria and Demko; brothers, Peter and Gordon and by a sister-in-law Mary. Sophie received her education at Arran, Sask. She worked in Churchill as an office clerk for a couple of years where she met John Glen Bowman. Glen was relocated to Winnipeg and they got married in November of 1957. She worked in Winnipeg at Revenue Canada for several years. Sophie devoted much of her time caring for her house, yard and companion Elmer Thompsett. She was always willing to give a helping hand to her immediate relatives, friends and neighbours. A private Funeral Service will be held for Sophie in the Chapel of Memories in Wojciks Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Ave., at Sharp Boulevard with the Very Rev. John A. Melnyk presiding. Burial will take place in Kamsack, Sask., on Thursday, September 14 at 11:00 a.m. Flowers are gratefully declined.
