PAUL EMILE SABOURIN 1920 - 2000 It is with deepest regrets that we announce the passing of Paul Emile Sabourin, on September 6, 2000. Paul is survived by his wife, Frances; children, Roger (Susie), Marie (Lynwood) Anderson, Michelle, Denis (Barb), Cathie (Bob) Matlock, Angie, Maurice (Bev), as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Paul was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Maurice and Henri, as well as by his son, Paul. Paul was born in St. Boniface in 1920. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces during the Second World War where he met and married his wife, Frances. They settled first in Ashern, Manitoba and later moved to Winnipeg where they raised eight children. Paul was a welder by trade and worked for Air Canada, Co-Op Implements, and Heli-Fab. Paul enjoyed spending his time at the cottage at Bird Lake in the company of his family. Although Paul was not an avid fisherman, he enjoyed taking family and friends for a scenic cruise on his beloved pontoon boat. Pauls love and compassion for his wife and children was constantly displayed by his self-sacrifice, devotion, love and support. He will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched. Funeral services will be held at the St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Ave. on Tuesday, September 12 at 10:30 a.m. Msgr. Ward Jamieson will celebrate the Funeral Mass. Private interment of Pauls cremated remains will take place in St. Boniface Cemetery on Archibald Street the following day. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make a donation in Pauls memory to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3B 2H8.
