LOUIS ROMANIC Peacefully, with his family by his side, on Thursday, September 7, 2000, Louis passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 62 years, Emily; his children, Sylvia (Gary) and Louise; grandchildren, Linda (Marc), Katterina (Attila), and Carol; great-grandchildren, Alora, Evan, Kaden, Nicholas and Aira; brother Peter and many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and neighbours. Louis was predeceased by his parents, Anton and Katharina; children, Anthony and Linda; sister Mary; and brother Michael. Louis was born in the Ukraine and came to Canada when he was 12 years old. He lived and farmed in Oak Hammock for many years until he retired to Selkirk. He lived life to the fullest and made every day a new adventure for his family. His love for the outdoors was most obvious in his passion for fishing. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting and going with Emily to McDonalds for coffee. Prayers will be said on Sunday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 11 at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Marys Ukrainian Catholic Church, Rossdale, Manitoba with Fr. Michael Winn officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. To Those I Love and Those Who Loved Me When I am gone, release me, let me go I have so many things to see and do You musnt tie yourself to me with tears Be happy that we had so many years. I wont be far away - for life goes on So if you need me - call - and I will come Tho you cant see me - or touch me - Ill be near - and if you listen in your heart, youll hear All my love around you soft and clear And when you must come this way - Ill greet you with a smile and say - WELCOME HOME The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital for their excellent, loving care.
