ALFRED JOSEPH SEXTON Alfred Joseph Sexton, beloved husband of Ivy Lillian (nee Carter), passed away on September 7, 2000, at the age of 83 years. Joe will be loved and remembered by three children and their families: daughter Pat and Donald (Cranstone), son Ken and Peggy (nee Sitar), son Lorne and Christine (nee Plewa). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Ian, Laura, Dana and husband Dave, Geoffrey and wife Christine, Tanis and husband Jim, Andy and wife Michelle, Kimberly, Kathryn, Allison and Laura; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Gavin, Christina, Kayla, Kendra and Kara. Joe is mourned by mother-in-law Florence Carter and many other family and friends. He was predeceased by parents, Alfred and Sarah (nee Caine) brother Bill; and sister-in-law Mary. Joe and Ivy celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 12, 1999 with many family and friends in attendance. He worked for CPR Weston Shops for 42 years, retiring in 1976. Joe had lengthy associations with St. Johns Ambulance, curling and lawn bowling leagues, and the Winnipeg Singing Seniors. He was a talented musician and served as organist at St. Thomas Anglican Church for many years. The family appreciates the wonderful care he received from the palliative care unit at St. Boniface General Hospital, the V.O.N. and home care services. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, September 11 at St. Thomas Anglican Church, 1567 William at Worth, with Rev. Kenn Garrity officiating.
