Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJ. STANLEY BLOWER On September 7, 2000 at Tuxedo Villa, Stan Blower passed away at the age of 85 years. Stan was born in Saskatoon, SK on April 28, 1915, after his parents moved from England. In the early 1920s they moved to Winnipeg. He finished grade 11 at Kelvin High School and then worked at Underwood Typewriters. Through some mutual friends he met Patricia who became his wife in May of 1940. Stan joined the RCAF in 1940 and was quickley transferred to eastern Canada. There he attained the rank of Flight Sargent and finished his military career at Rochcliffe, ON in 1946. Dad then took a job with O.H. Pierce and Co. in Toronto and was transferred to Winnipeg in the late 1940s where he spent more than 20 years employed by Monarch Marking System. Although some people would have retired after 30 years working, Stan started a new company at age 56. With the help of his two sons, he ran the Western Label Company until finally retiring in February of 1981. Later in his business career and retirement, Stan and Pat spent many winters with good friends in the southern States and Hawaii. In August 1997 he had another disabling stroke. In July 1998 he moved to Tuxedo Villa where he spent his last two years, the past 9 months with his wife at his side. Stan is survived by his wife Patricia; two sons, Alan (Helen) of Kelowna, John (Deborah) of Winnipeg and one daughter Irene (Jack) also of Winnipeg and sister, Irene Hill. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alana (Jerry), Darren (Clara), Darren (Marlene), Kristi, Chesney and Kellen and Farrah as well as his great-grandchildren, Justin, Kory, Jesse and Gracie, and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 12 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Tuxedo Villa, nurses and health care aides who made his last remaining years peaceful and comfortable. Should friends so desire donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation. Flowers are gratefully declined. Dad you made us laugh and kept your humor to the end. We love you.
