HELEN ANGELA CHABLUK (nee PIATKOWSKI) Suddenly on Thursday, September 7, 2000, Helen, a beautiful wife, mother and grandmother, left us. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 44 years, Elmer; three sons, Arnold (Regina), Ken (Donna) and Jeff; also by the apple of her eye, grandson Jeremy. Helen will also be greatly missed by brothers, Harry, Raymond (Irene) and sister Mary, as well as many family and friends. Helen was predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Nettie Piatkowski. Helen worked part time at Toronto Dominion Data Centre for 25 years and made numerous friends there. Helen retired in 1993 and Elmer in 1988; they thoroughly enjoyed retirement with many late night card games, casino trips and family get-togethers. Helen was a wonderful hostess who welcomed everyone with a fresh cup of coffee and home-made baking. The family would like to thank the first responders and paramedics, also the emergency and ICU staff of Concordia Hospital. Your skill and compassion was greatly appreciated. Prayers will take place at Green Acres Funeral Chapel on Monday, September 11, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at Green Acres on Tuesday, September 12, at 3:00 p.m. If so desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man.
