JULIA GERRICK Julia passed away peacefully on September 10, 2000 at Calvary Place. She was predeceased by both of her parents; her brother John and most recently by her sister and best friend Francis Starratt. She will be sadly missed by her nephew Ronald Gerrick of Winnipeg. Julias passion was painting. She graduated from the Manitoba School of Art in the 1920s. Some of her paintings are hanging in prominent boardrooms of businesses across Canada, the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba and in the National Art Gallery in Ottawa. Julia was a member of the Winnipeg Art Gallery, and the Manitoba Sketch Club. She always carried a sketch pad in her travels through Europe and North America with her sister. Julia was a kind and generous person who always put her family in first place, taking care of her parents for years. Julias family would like to thank all the nurses and staff on the second floor at Calvary Place Personal Care Home for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Julias memory to Calgary Place Personal Care Home, 1325 Erin St. R3E 3R6.
