ELLEN MARGARET LUSTY It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Ellen Lusty, beloved wife of Steve Lusty, on Monday, September 11, 2000 at her residence at Traverse Bay. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Steve; children Blanche, Percy (Shirley), Valerie (David) and Roger (Donna). Ellen also leaves 16 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, friends and very special friend Sheila. She was predeceased by daughter Velma, infant daughter Margaret, first husband Garnett Louis, parents Tillie and William, granddaughter Kim and grandson Barry, brother Orton and sisters Ida, Edna and Lil. Ellen was a kind and loving person who always put others before herself and who never wanted anyone to be left out. She was always there to comfort in times of sorrow and sickness and helped many through tough times. Blessed with a great sense of humour, she was always willing to participate in a prank and many times outshone everyone in a curling skit. Ellen was a great cook and many will remember her perogies, flat tires and wonderful pies. Many a time it was heard at a bonspiel, "I want a piece of Ellens lemon pie." A special thank you from Percy to Marlene Farrell and Reg Thomas. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, September 13 (tonight) at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, MB. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 14 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Michaels Church, Victoria Beach, MB. Interment to follow in the Victoria Beach Community Cemetery. Ellens pallbearers will be her grandchildren; Kelly, Kerry, Cory, Diana, Leann and Jodie. Honorary pallbearers will be the rest of the grandchildren; Sandra, Christy, Dwayne, Mark and Alora Ellen Ann. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Wpg., MB R3C OS6. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
