FRANCISCA WILHELMINA (FRAN) KIRTON (nee vanYPERENBURG) April 16, 1959 - September 11, 2000 After a courageous battle with cancer, Fran passed away on September 11, 2000. Fran was born on April 16, 1959 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. After one year living in The Netherlands, Fran immigrated to Canada with her parents. Fran enjoyed Brownies, Girl Guides and tap dancing as after school activities. She will be deeply missed by her two children, Nicki, 13, and Travis, 10. Her special friend Cal Mowat. Her brother Vince and his wife Allison and their children, Alex and Ashley. Her sister Liz and husband Jeff Venderbos and their two children, Derek and Ty. Lovingly remembered by her parents, Tony and Joanne van Yperenburg, who wrote this poem specially for Fran: You earned your wings fly, daughter, fly Our time was too short, I dont know why, You are free of pain and sorrow No more worries about tomorrow Let the Father take you by the hand We are trying hard to understand. We all hated to see you go. Now you are at peace and that we know So long dear daughter Fran Until once more we meet again. Special thanks to Dr. R. Wong and staff of St. Boniface Hospital, and Dr. Lindensmiths and Dr. Damses of Selkirk General Hospital and staff. A very special thanks to Garry and Grace Mowat, who made her last months so much more comfortable, with all their love and care. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 15 at 1:00 p.m. at Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to CancerCare Manitoba.
