Date of Passing: Sep 09, 2000
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN MAY KREITZ With sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother at Prince George Regional Hospital, Prince George, BC, on Saturday, September 9, 2000 at the age of 87 years. Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert in March 1986. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Raymond (Roberta), Lynne (Oscar Fehr), Barrie (Carole), Dale (Ron Lemay) and Gary (Pat), 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Margaret Henderson who was like a sister to her and many nieces and nephews. Helen was born in Winnipeg, MB on September 1, 1913. Moving to the family farm at Letellier, MB at 16 years of age, she later married, raised her family and pursued a gratifying 23 year nursing career at Emerson and Morris Hospitals and finally at the clinic in St. Jean-Baptiste, MB. After Dads passing, Mom moved to Winnipeg in 1987, residing at Richmond Gardens. There she spent 13 happy years until failing health precipitated her moving to Prince George to live with her daughter Lynne and son-in-law Oscar Fehr. Mom possessed a great gift for adapting to change - like a rose, she bloomed wherever she was planted. Her strong faith guided her throughout her life and her positive outlook on life was an inspiration to all who knew her. Moms generosity, kindness and caring touched many. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, September 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Chapel, 1055 Ospika Blvd., Prince George, BC. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Lung Association would be appreciated. Moms ashes will be interred at Lakeside Cemetery, Emerson, MB, alongside our Dad, at a later date. Special thanks to Ilene Maloff for the many hours spent with Mom this past year; doctors, John Smith and Jana Sidorov and the nursing staff at Prince George Regional Hospital for their kindness and care.
