Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT THOMAS CLIFTON Robert Clifton, born April 18, 1951 at Couchneur, Ontario, passed away suddenly, September 8, 2000 at his summer home in Silverton, Washington, USA, at the age of 49 years. Robert started high school at John Taylor Collegiate and graduated from Gordon Bell High School. He later graduated from RRCC Business Accounting Course. During his school years he worked at the Viscount Gort Hotel. Summer vacations were spent as a pay-writer in The Canadian Navy Reserves. Until the time of his passing he had been employed by Justice Canada, Vancouver. He had been on disability for approximately one year. Roberts life long love of cars led him to restore a 57 Chrysler New Yorker Convertible. This led him to purchase a 74 Cuda which he had maintained in mint condition to this day. The Cuda was featured on the cover of the February 99 edition of Car Collector. Until his passing he was working on restoring a 70 Dodge Challenger. He was past president of the Timers Car Club of Manitoba. At his passing, he was treasurer of Mopar Unlimited Car Club of Vancouver, BC. Surviving him are his life partner, Jim Scollon of Vancouver, BC; his mother Jean Clifton; brothers, Russell, Barry and Roy; sisters, Rosemary (Ken Ehn), Glenda (John Chanenko) and many nieces and nephews. Robert will be truly missed by his family, friends and companion pets, Thi-Thi and Elizabeth. He was predeceased by his father Russell W. Clifton in 1982; his grandparents; uncles, George and Howard; aunts, Olive and Venetta and some cousins. Visitation will be held from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., Friday, September 15, at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. Funeral Service 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 16, at Bardal Funeral Chapel. Cremation to follow service. Interment in the family plot Morden, MB. Honorary pallbearers will be John Chanenko, Ken Ehn, Charlie Simmons, Robert Simmons, Chris Maruca and Gary Clifton.
