Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEVE WLASICHUK It is with deepest sympathy we announce the passing of our Dad, Steve Partun Wlasichuk, on Monday, September 11, 2000 at Middlechurch Home at the age of 92 years. Steve leaves to mourn his passing his children, Stan (Sonya), Len (Janine), Mildred (Gary) Tolton, Saskatoon, Elsie (Merrill) Heinz, Philadelphia; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Steve was born in Bukevena to Partun and Rose. He was predeceased by his wife Lena of 70 years, August 11, 2000, and by five brothers. After farming for many years in Veregin, SK, Steve and family moved to Winnipeg where he worked as a machinist for Ideal Brass until retirement. The cottage at Belair was a home away from home for Steve, family and friends. His woodworking in his garage, winter or summer, was a great pastime for him. He always had a pocket of sweets to share with grandchildren and friends. Prayers will be said on Thursday, September 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, 1175 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 15 at 9:30 a.m., also at the Cathedral, with Very Rev. Fr. H. Lakusta officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be Steves family and friends. Active pallbearers will be Jordan Tolton, Orest Palmar, Terry Krepiakevich, Borys Salamon, Terry Carmichael and Len Lavallee. The family would like to thank the staff of Middlechurch Home North 1 for their kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Unit 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements 586-8044.
