WILLIAM SMOOK Peacefully on Sunday, September 10, 2000 at the DeSalleberry District Health Centre in St. Pierre, Manitoba, William Smook, of Senkiw, Manitoba, passed away at the age of 73 years. Besides his beloved wife of 39 years, Rose (nee Ostrosky), he is survived by their children, Mary Ann (Ken), Nancy (Victor), Chris (Richard), and Harry; grandchildren, Rosanne, Stephanie, Kevin and Stacey; his mother Nellie Smook; sisters, Ann Dumanski, Olga (Steve) Kushka and Mary Andrusyk, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by an infant son, Paul; father Dmytro; brother Harry; and brothers-in-law Tony Dumanski and Harry Andrusyk. Together with his wife, William farmed in the Senkiw area, and to supplement the farm income, worked at different jobs away from the farm. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, September 13, 7:30 p.m. at Loewen Funeral Chapel, No. 12 Highway South, Steinbach, followed by Funeral Service on Thursday, September 14, 10:30 a.m. at the St. Mary The Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. Miron Pozniak officiating. Interment will follow in the Parish cemetery. Special thanks to the Doctors and Nursing Staff at the St. Pierre Hospital for their care and compassion during our husband and fathers hospitalizations. Should friends so desire, donations may be made in Williams memory to the DeSalleberry District Health Centre, St. Pierre, Manitoba.
