PATRICIA ANN (PAT) COLLINS It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of Patricia (Pat) Collins on Sunday, September 10, 2000 at Womens Pavilion, Health Sciences Centre. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Thomas, on January 6, 2000 and her parents, William and Jean King. Remaining to forever cherish Pats memory are her children, James (Brenda) of Marathon, ON, Catharine (John) Curwain of Winnipeg, Sandra (Eugene) Audette of North Bay, ON and Carol (Thomas) Sloane of Winnipeg; as well as her seven grandchildren, Cheryl, Andrew, Sean, Adam, Scott, Stephen and Brian. Pat also leaves to mourn her mother-in-law Jane Collins and her aunt Nancy Hill, both of St. Catharines, ON and numerous cousins and friends. Pat was born on June 8, 1931 and grew up in St. Catharines. After finishing school, she worked as a dental assistant. In 1949, Pat married Tom, became a full-time mom and returned to work many years later. Pat and Tom moved throughout Canada while in the R.C.A.F., making Winnipeg their home upon retirement. They enjoyed travelling around Canada and the US in their motor home while accompanied by their faithful golden retrievers, Cody and Trapper. Pat knit many sweaters for family members while on the road. She enjoyed her Wednesday Bingo friends, yearly outings to Rainbow Stage, spending time with her grandchildren and gardening. A private family funeral service will be held in memory of Pat in the Chapel of Memories in Wojciks Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Ave. at Sharp Boulevard. Our family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Krepart, the many compassionate nurses on 5R, especially Tracy, Renata and Cathy. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Pats memory to Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 9Z9.
