MARY CREEDON (CAMPBELL) February 28, 1913 - September 12, 2000 It is with sadness yet relief that I announce the peaceful passing of my mother Mrs. Mary Creedon (Campbell) who passed away at the Victoria General Hospital on Tuesday, September 12, 2000, after a short illness. Mom was a kind and gentle soul who put others before herself, and devoted her lifetime to the home, always there with a smile, a laugh, and a good meal. She had a marvellous sense of humour which never faltered. Mom was born in Melville, SK on February 28, 1913, and had been a resident of Elmwood and St. Vital the majority of her life. In her remaining years she resided at Richmond Gardens, 2900 Pembina Hwy., and when unable to care for herself anymore, she became a resident of Central Park Lodge and later Golden Links Lodge on St. Marys Road. She met her lifelong love Robert Campbell while both were employed in Estevan, SK and they were married in Winnipeg on 1940. He predeceased her in 1962, and her love for Dad never faded, speaking often of how she would like to see Bob again. Thirty-eight long years have passed and that time has now come. No more suffering, no more pain, together again as she wished. She remarried in 1967 to her second husband Howard who predeceased her in 1991. Mary was also predeceased by one brother Alvin and is survived by a sister Vi in Sarnia. She will be missed by son Ron, wife Eleanor, and grandchildren, Evan and Arlynn. Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, September 15 at 11:00 a.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. A special thanks to Ann Brown of Richmond Gardens for her more than frequent visits, caring for my mother and helping her pass the days. God Bless you Ann. Also heartfelt thanks to friend Elsie Lylyk for her many trips to visit with my mother. Your efforts are most appreciated and will never be forgotten. No matter the circumstances, you found the time when others didnt. Also special thanks to the staff at Golden Links Lodge and to nursing staff at the Victoria Hospital for their devotion and care as well as their compassion when the end was near. It was most appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice in memory of Mary.
