Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLADYS WILHELMINA WILSON (nee ABREY) On September 13, 2000 at Grace General Hospital, Gladys Wilson, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully after a short illness. Born in Dauphin March 5, 1903, eldest child of Wilfred and Orpha Abrey. In 1927 she married Edwin Wilson of Gilbert Plains and they moved to the Mossvale District of Grandview where they farmed until 1950 when they became mobile with Manitoba Hydro. They lived in many small towns in southern and western Manitoba settling in Brandon in 1960. Gladys moved to Winnipeg in 1989 and resided there until her death. Predeceased by her husband Edwin (1983) son Clayton (1999) her mother Orpha Abrey (French) and her father George Wilfred Abrey; sisters, Joy Wilson, Nell Blair, Ada Mitchell; brothers, Oral (Bus) Abrey and Lawrence Abrey. Left to cherish her memory her sons, Kenneth (Roxy) of Calgary and Garth (Ardell) of Thunder Bay; daughter-in-law Vangie of Balgonie, Saskatchewan and her daughter Wilma (Kaz) of Winnipeg. She will be sadly missed by her 13 grandchildren and 23 great- grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Jennie (Bill) of Vancouver, Nina of Thunder Bay, Dorothy of Saskatoon and her brother Bert (Bette) of Red Deer, Alberta; sisters-in-law, Nellie Hawthorne and Laura Wilson of Gilbert Plains and Irene Wilson of Dauphin, also numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be granddaughters, Rennie Dorn, Colleen Kurtz, Wanda Maxwell, Cheryl Matieshin-Kurtz, Gwenda Matieshin and Jill Matieshin. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 16, at 2 p.m. in the Gilbert Plains United Church. Her Faith and her family sustained her. We will miss you.
