Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT JOHN NICHOLSON After a long struggle with Alzheimers disease on September 13, 2000 in his 79th year. Remembered always by Myrtle, his wife & best friend for 56 years; his daughters, Arlene (Gaylen Duncan), Diane (Michael Leuty), Susan (Ron Schirlie) grandchildren, Gaylen, Krista, Meghan and Robert Duncan and Matthew and Scott Brady. He will be sadly missed by his sister Thelma Forrester of Richmond, B.C. and brother-in-law Wilfred Matheson of Langley, B.C. and all his nieces and nephews, who knew him as "Uncle Buck". Robert was predeceased by his sisters, Helen Smith and Kathleen Haxton and his parents, Bertha and George Nicholson. Robert was born and educated in Winnipeg, where he started his career with Trans Canada Airlines, after serving in the Airforce during the Second World War. His 38-year career with Air Canada took him to Windsor and Montreal before ending as General Manager in Winnipeg. He also had a very active volunteer career with the Salvation Army, last serving on the Advisory Board, as well as Past-President of the Winnipeg Rotary Club. He was a member and active player until the latter years of the St. Charles Golf and Country Club. Our special thanks go to Gord Sinclair for his constant friendship and help through this struggle. Also, we are grateful for the support and care given by Dr. Isaac and the nursing staff on 3 West of the Concordia Hospital. Donations in lieu of flowers may be given to the Salvation Army, the Alzheimer Society or a charity of ones choice. A service to celebrate Roberts life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, at the Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Interment will take place Thanksgiving Weekend in Georgeville, Quebec. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
