Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM EDWARD LOWTON William Edward Lowton, aged 50, died suddenly in his home on September 13, 2000. Ed was born in Killarney, MB, on November 19, 1949. He grew up the second child and only son of Bill and Annie Lowton on a farm between Ninette and Belmont. As a boy, Ed attended Pelican Lake and Belmont Schools, and he participated in Cubs, minor baseball, minor hockey, and curling. As a young man, Ed worked for farmers in the area, performing various duties. In 1968, Ed began his career with Manitoba Pool Elevators, where he worked until his death. He worked in various communities in Manitoba, including Morden, Beausejour, St. Agathe, Glenboro, Brandon, Broomhill, Treherne, Purvus, Tilston, and Manitou. In 1972, Ed married Valerie Van De Kerckhove. Ed and Val lived in Purvus until 1973, when they moved to Tilston, where both their sons were born: Curtis in 1973, Del in 1976. In 1976, the family moved to Manitou, where they have lived until present. Over the years, Ed was involved with minor baseball, minor hockey, New Haven Angels softball, Manitou Curling Club, the Royal Canadian Legion, and the Manitou Agricultural Society. Ed leaves to mourn his wife Valerie (Manitou) his sons, Curtis (Winnipeg), and Del (Manitou) his mother Annie (Belmont) his sister Donelda Sallenback and family (Regina) and his sister and brother-in-law Wanda and Larry Stinn and family (Calgary) as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Ed was predeceased by his father Bill in 1984. Ed will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Donations can be made to the Ninette Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, in care of Riverside, Box 126, Dunrea, MB R0K 0S0. Funeral service will be held from St. Andrews United Church in Manitou, on Saturday, September 16 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Brian Minaker officiating. Interment will follow the service in Ninette Cemetery, Ninette, at 4:30 p.m. Grahams Funeral Service of Manitou in care of arrangements.
