NORMA JEAN ROSKY (SCHIEDEL) On September 12, 2000, Norma Jean peacefully passed away with her family by her side at HSC after a brief and courageous struggle with cancer. Nonie leaves to cherish her memory her two loving and devoted sons, Christopher James (Bili) and Craig Allan who stood by her and supported her through this troubled time. Also special to her heart are her granddaughters, Samantha-Lee, Rebecca, and their mother Gwen and her family. She will be sadly missed also by her mother Florence, brother Ken (Mary), her sister Kathy (Rory), and nephew Joesph. She was predeceased by her father James. Nonie will also be fondly remembered by Marilyn Ewanochko and sons, Trevor and Terry; Mark Behrendt; and the families of Allan Rosky, Carl and Irene Josefchuk, and many other friends and relatives. Nonie was born in Brandon, MB in 1946. She happily spent her childhood years active with the East End Community Center, skating and tobogganing. She attended King George School and St. Michaels Academy. In 1965 Nonie entered the School of Nursing at St. Boniface Hospital where she met and married Allan Rosky. She was a dedicated and caring surgical nurse while working at St. Boniface, Concordia and Seven Oaks Hospital throughout her adult life. Nonie loved to read, do needlepoint, complete crossword puzzles and create treasured Christmas ornaments. She cherished the children in her life and could always be counted on to provide a home to wayward cats. Our familys cabin at Clear Lake remains a very special place where she loved to swim and take long walks along the beach. Nonie was a selfless person, always putting the needs of her children first. She lived her life with quiet courage and dignity and will always be in the hearts of her family and friends. The family wishes to thank the dedicated and thoughtful staff of the HSC MICU and to D6 Oncology for the special care she received during her stay there. We are also grateful for the support and guidance we have received from our many friends and family during this difficult period. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a family gathering was held. Should friends so desire, donations can be made in her memory to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. "We all love you Nonie and know that you are in a special place where the angels will take care of you."
