NETA BUSCHAU (ARCHIBALD) Peacefully, with her family by her side, Mum passed away Friday, September 15, 2000 at the Lions Prairie Manor in Portage la Prairie. She was born and raised in Plumas, Man., attended Normal School in Winnipeg and returned to teach in the Plumas area until 1938 when she married Lolly Buschau. Together, Mum and Dad farmed until 1949 when they purchased the Rose Theatre in Plumas. In addition to working at the theatre and raising a family, Mum returned to teaching at Sudan School and Plumas Collegiate. On retiring, Mum and Dad remained in Plumas, where she was able to devote more time to gardening, bird watching, bowling and enjoying her family. She was predeceased by her husband Lolly; brothers, Roy, Eric (Bus) and her sister Roma Macks. She leaves to mourn, her children, Bruce (Laurel) Phyllis Mauthe (Ted) and Val; as well as her grandchildren, Lani and Dean (Brenda), Kelly Mauthe (Karen), Joy Mauthe and Janine Brown (Darrell) and her sisters, Phyllis Buckler (Syd), Wilma Donogh and Ruby Buckler (Stew) and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mums life will be held at the Plumas United Church, Plumas, Man. on Monday, September 18 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man. R3C 9Z9. The family would like to thank the staff at Lions Prairie Manor for all their care and help through the difficult times. Clarkes Funeral Home, Gladstone in care of arrangements.
