ALEXANDER KULIK On Monday, September 11, 2000, Alex Kulik passed away at his residence. He was 91 years of age. Alex was born in Austria on October 14, 1908. He married his beloved Anne Mikoliszyn on June 6, 1931 and they enjoyed 66 wonderful years together until her death in 1997. Their home was full of love and their friends found great hospitality and terrific food when visiting them on Redwood Avenue. They took great pride in their yard and many will remember enjoying outdoor parties beside Alex and Annes beautiful garden and flowers. Left to cherish his memory are his sister Victoria Paul of Minneapolis; brother Peter and wife Nettie of Vancouver, BC and several nieces and nephews. Alex worked as a mechanic at Modern Dairies for 40 years. He enjoyed his job, which was made more pleasurable because he worked along side his brother and best friend Peter. Alex retired in 1973. He always loved repairing cars and going for drives. When he was no longer able to drive his own car, he got on the bus and did a circle tour. In recent years he looked forward to weekend drives with his nephew Jim. Funeral service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 18. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the VON Nurses, particularly Emily Solohub, as well as caregivers from Home Care Services especially Victoria Mendez and Divina Remocal. Their care and understanding made it possible for Alex to fulfil his wish of remaining at home until his passing. A very special thank you must go to Victoria Mendez who gave such compassionate care and friendship to Alex that she was like a member of his own family. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
