WILLIAM GOWANS William Gowans, beloved husband of the late Marjorie Gowans, passed away at the Concordia Hospital at the age of seventy-four years. William is survived by his two sons, David Gowans and Doug (Susan) Gowans; one daughter Susan (Richard) Giesbrecht; granddaughter, Lindsay Giesbrecht; sister Nancy Cox; one brother-in-law James Fisher and his daughter Barbara Fisher and second-cousin Eric (Bev) Perry. He is predeceased by his parents, Walter and Margaret Gowans and by his sister Rita Fisher. William was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1926. He and Marjorie moved to Canada in the early 1950s. A short time after arriving in Winnipeg, he began working for the T. Eaton Company and retired there in the late 1980s. There will be a funeral service at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. There will be a private family interment in St. Johns Cathedral Cemetery. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Concordia General Hospital for the care given to William during his time there.
