ROSEINA (ROSE) TAYLOR (nee MILLER) Auntie Rose, as her family knew her, was peacefully called by our Lord after a brief illness on Sunday, September 17, 2000 at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 87 years. She was born on June 4, 1913 in Winnefred, AB, the fifth child in the family of 11 children of John and Christina Miller. She married Gordon Taylor in 1935 and had three children, Jeanette, Kenneth and Raymond. Rose always had strong connections with her church and made many valuable contributions to her parish. She regularly attended Liturgical Celebrations and spent many hours keeping the altar linens and vestments in immaculate condition. Rose often participated in church activities and she especially looked forward to playing bingo and associating with the many friends she made there. She was a person who had a strong spirit, always maintaining a bright outlook and a cheery attitude. Rose enjoyed her sense of independence and she lived alone for as long as she could through the kindness and help of her neighbours and friends. Rose leaves to mourn her passing, son Ray; sisters, Francis, Helen and Genevieve; brothers, Felix (Winnie), Edward (Betty) and Fred; sister-in-law Rosemary; grandchildren, Emily and Calin; Jennie-Mae, Paris, Miles; three great-grandchildren and by many nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her daughter Jeanette; her husband Gordon; son Kenneth; parents, John and Christina Miller; sisters, Mary and Hilda, and by her brothers, Joe and Frank. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 21 at 10:30 a.m., in St. Paul The Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Avenue, with Rev. Msgr. Ward Jamieson pre-siding. Interment will follow in the Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue. Our family wishes to thank The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg for taking such good care of Rose in her last years as she was happy and content there; the Victoria General Hospital doctors and nurses, for making her last days as peaceful as possible and also to Rev. Fr. Pat Morand for his visits and administering the Sacrament of Anointing of The Sick. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Roses memory to a charity of ones choice. WOJCIKS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
