MARCEL JOSEPH GODIN Peacefully, on Sunday, September 17, 2000, Marcel Joseph Godin passed away at Fred Douglas Lodge at the age of 85. Marcel was predeceased by his wife Jeanne DArc in June of 1975 and his only son Roger in June of 1999. He leaves to mourn two daughters, Jeannette Godin and Denise Johns (Wes). He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Karen, Dale, Diana, Michael and Vince. He is survived by his sister Elie-Anne Chaput (Xavier). Until he suffered a stroke in 1998, Dad enjoyed his retirement by travelling far and wide, to places like Alaska, California, New Orleans and the Maritimes. Travelling was his passion. Prior to his retirement he worked many years for Stafford Foods Ltd. Dad also enjoyed spending time with his family. Special thanks to the staff of Fred Douglas Lodge, Deer Lodge Centre and St. Boniface Hospital (5th floor geriatrics). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 21, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin Street with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H.,V.F. officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St. Wpg R3B 2H8.
