BERTHA WILGOSH Peacefully, on Monday, September 18, 2000 at Middlechurch Home, Bertha passed away with her family at her side. She leaves to mourn her passing, daughter Joyce and her husband Brian Gainor; granddaughter, Tara and her fiance Tod Clark, Leah and friend Jeff Soltis, grandsons, David Sargent and his wife Melanie, Jeff Sargent and his wife Leanne; great grandchildren, Chelsea, Christopher and Talia. Bertha was predeceased by her husband Anton (Tony) Wilgosh in 1993 and daughter Evelyn Sargent in 1990. Also predeceasing her are brothers, Julius Wilgosh, Louis Walgash, John Wielgosh, David Black, Peter Wielgosh and sisters, Leona Wilgosh and Frances Gurnik. Bertha was born in Brokenhead, Manitoba on August 13, 1913 to proud parents John and Petronela Wilgosz (nee Rurka). She met Tony and was married in 1933 in Beausejour. Bertha enjoyed raising her family and moved from Beausejour to Transcona and then finally settled in East Kildonan. She spent many a day nurturing her family and could always be found knitting, crocheting, sewing or cooking. Her family and her husband were her whole life. She loved going to bingo and was very good at cards. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Highway with interment to follow in Transcona Cemetery. Prayers will be held Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers will be Jeff Sargent, Dave Sargent, Brian Gainor, Tod Clark, Jeff Soltis and Allen Wielgosh. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald Street, Winnipeg R3B 2H8 or to a charity of your choice. Heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at Middlechurch who lovingly cared for Bertha during her stay with them. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel 338-0331.
