Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALVA JEAN SMART It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our darling sister Alva Jean with her family by her side on Tuesday, September 19, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Mary and Ruth Smart, Florence (Bob) Wilson, Doris Stewart, Hilda Ransome, Evelyn Hostrawser, Rachael Litton; brother Dave (Dorothy) Smart and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Dave and Agnes Smart; brothers, Jack, Stan, Bob and sister Grace. Jean was born and resided in Rathwell, MB. She enjoyed country music, bingo, books, concerts and visiting with friends and helping others. She was an avid Jets hockey fan. Her courage and determination was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. Jean was a member of Calvin United Church of Rathwell. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 22, at 1:00 p.m. in the Rathwell Memorial Hall, Rathwell, MB. with Rev. Dr. Peter H. Denton officiating. Viewing will take place prior to service. Interment in Woodlands Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeans nephews, Terry Wilson, Rick Smart, David Ransome, Brian Ransome, Scott and Garry Smart. A heartfelt thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff of the St. Boniface Hospital SICU for the tender, loving compassionate and superb care given to our Jeannie, during her stay with them.
