Date of Passing: Sep 17, 2000
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEVE (STEFAN) STASIUK Peacefully, after a brief illness, Steve went to his eternal rest on Sunday, September 17, 2000 at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. Steve was born in Caliento, Manitoba on February 22, 1917. He lived with several relatives in the Caliento district until 1970. In that year he moved to Winnipeg where he resided until his passing. He took great pride in his self-taught ability to play the violin and guitar. Although unable to read a single note of music, he could duplicate almost any tune just from listening to it being played. Those he leaves behind will remember his love of music and willingness to work hard at any task assigned to him. His parents, five brothers and five sisters predeceased Steve. His memory will be cherished by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 20 at 2:00 p.m., with viewing at 1:30 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. 1 East at Navin Road, with Rev. Fr. John Mostivsky officiating. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. The family would like to acknowledge the care provided by the operators of the guest home where Steve resided for the past 14 years. As well, the nurses and staff of the fifth floor Misericordia Health Centre for the care and compassion they showed in easing the burden during his last days. GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
