EMILY CONNORS (nee HELGASON) 1918 - 2000 It is with deep sadness that we, the family announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother Emily Connors on September 19, 2000. Emily was predeceased by her loving husband William on September 7, 1971. Emily will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Edward (Doreen) and William; three grandchildren, Edward (Karen), Melanie and Maria (Marshall) and one great-granddaughter Chloe Jennifer Emily; her extended family, Monica and Jim Bretchka, Patrick and Maureen Connors and Tony Connors, Kim, Denis, Patrice, Paul James Sibilleau and the family pet Kristal. Emily was born and raised in the Interlake and Fort Whyte area. Later, she moved to Winnipeg where she married and raised her children. She trained as a nurse and worked for 30 years retiring from the Health Sciences Centre. Emily was a wonderful mother and grandmother and a true friend. She was a spiritual woman who always lived life to the fullest. She thoroughly enjoyed playing bingo and socializing with friends. She was a blessing to everyone. Special thanks to the nursing staff at Holy Family Nursing Home. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Avenue with Deacon Frank Conway officiating. Viewing will be from 10:00 to 10:30 prior to the service. Interment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Edward Connors, Patrick Connors, Tony Connors and Marshall Galloway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetic Society, Manitoba Division, 102-310 Broadway, Wpg, R3C 0S6 or to a charity of your choice. MOTHER You can only have one Mother, Patient, kind and true. No other friend in all the world, Would be so true to you. For all her loving kindness, She asked nothing in return. If all the world deserted us, To Mother we would turn. To those who have a Mother, Treasure her with care, For you will never miss her, Till you know that shes not there.
