JANET (NETTA) ELIZABETH NICHOLSON (nee MACDONALD) On September 22, 2000, Netta passed away at the age of 92 years. She will be sadly missed by her children, Gary (Ina), Neil (Shirley) and Trish (Richard) Scharnik; grandchildren, Debbie, Sharon, Diane, Glen, Cyndy, Christie, Bruce, Leigh and Stacy; great-grandchildren, Megan, Kiefer, Sarah, Matthew, Cody and Rylee; also numerous nieces, nephews and friends, especially Pat Boyce. She was predeceased by her husband Floyd; parents, Alex and Elizabeth Macdonald; brothers, Alex, Ian, Charlie and Donald and sisters, Kate and Peggy. Netta was born in Winnipeg in 1908 and lived first in Fort Rouge and then Elmwood after her marriage to Floyd. She was a long time member of Gordon-King Memorial United Church, Jephtha Chapter-Order of the Eastern Star and White Shrine. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff of Concordia Hospital for their compassionate care of Netta. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Gordon-King Memorial United Church, 127 Cobourg Avenue. A private family interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, 141 Bannatyne Ave., Wpg, MB R3B 0R3. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
