GEORGE ULYATT With dignity, on September 22, 2000, after a brief illness, but long battle with cancer, at St. Boniface Hospital. George was born in Preston, England in 1910 and immigrated to Canada as a toddler. Growing up in the West End, he was known for his love of music and he loved to play the blues and favourites of the day on the piano at gatherings of friends. Georges first career was that of an engraver and he was employed by a number of local firms where he gained national and international recognition as a master craftsman. During the war years he enlisted in the R.C.A.F. and was recruited into learning the new radar technology and was posted to Goose Bay, Labrador. Always eager to learn new things, George embarked on a successful real estate career that spanned 20 years when other people were considering retirement. George loved people and loved life, and was a founding member of the Reh-Fit Centre where he enjoyed many hours of exercise and companionship. George is survived by his son George Ernest and daughter Judith, and was predeceased by his beloved wife, Bess. Lovingly remembered by his brother Clifford; cousins, Gordon Drennen and Rita Green; and a host of wonderful nieces and nephews. Viewing for family and friends Monday, September 25 at 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 26 at 12 noon in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, with interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
