Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANTON (TONY) KANE On Thursday, September 21, 2000, Anton (Tony) Kane, aged 88 years, passed into the presence of the Lord at Central Park Lodge. Tony was born and raised in Beausejour, MB. He served in the Second World War with the Army Medical Corps in Canada and England. In 1943 he married Audrey and, after the war, settled in Winnipeg (West Kildonan). He had several skills, working as chef and butcher, and then as a firefighter. He retired in 1975 from the Winnipeg Fire Department, having been Deputy Chief for West Kildonan several years. He was a member of Bethesda Church. In addition to his wife Audrey, Tony will be missed by his son Dale and wife Linda, grandsons, Jason (Lynn), Todd (Charlene) and Jared, also a great-granddaughter Aleana; daughter Marlene, husband George Shchudlo and grandson Benjamin in Toronto. He was predeceased by son Larry in 1965, also three brothers and a sister. There will be a private family interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. A memorial service at Bethesda Church, 1350 Grant Ave. (at Cambridge Street) on Tuesday, September 26 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Bill Ehlers officiating. If friends so desire, contributions may be made to the Canadian Sunday School Mission or the Union Gospel Mission.
